Niila, a curious adventurer driven by a passion for crafting seamless user experiences, and Hans, a determined and persistent problem-solver with a love for design and solutions, met on the snowy streets of Rovaniemi.

It was the heart of winter, and like so many travelers, they saw the same pattern repeating—tourists arriving in the city with barely any useful information available.
Confused faces, outdated brochures, and a lack of clear guidance were everywhere.
One evening, as they watched a group of travelers trying to figure out how to get from the train station to their cabin in the dark Arctic evening, the idea struck.
"What if we built something that made exploring a city not just easier, but actually looks good?"
Niila asked from Hans.

The seed of idea was planted.

The question became a mission. They envisioned a tool that would guide travelers like a local friend –
someone who knows the ins and outs, the hidden gems, the must-see landmarks, and where to get the best cinnamon bun at 3 p.m.

Within a few months, they launched the first version of their platform.
It was a local service in Rovaniemi, featuring a few info kiosks offering curated itineraries, public transportation tips, and food recommendations.
The feedback was immediate and enthusiastic. Travelers finally felt like they had someone they could trust in a foreign city.

But soon, Niila and Hans realized something else. People weren’t just looking for guidance while they were traveling. They needed help before they even booked a ticket.

So they expanded.

The platform evolved into a full-fledged travel planning service. From choosing the right neighborhood to stay in, to creating personalized itineraries based on interests—art, history, food, nightlife, or nature—everything became possible with just a few clicks.

Niila remembered the time he tried snow shoeing in Lapland for the first time.
It was -25°C, Aurora Borealis shining on a sky, his eyelashes were frozen, but his mind was on excited.
That’s the kind of memory every traveler deserves.

With that, Your City Guide opened a marketplace for unforgettable experiences.
Whether it was a reindeer safari under the Northern Lights, a midnight sun kayaking tour, or a Santa Claus village visit in Rovaniemi,
users could now book these moments online—safely, easily, and with full transparency.
